Catholic University of Brasilia - Asset Management
The solution uses electronic tags based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, which continuosly transmit radio signals from each asset being monitored. The signals are captured by special proximity sensors installed in each classroom. These sensors continuosly verify that the assets are, in fact, in the exact registered location, allowing real time control of inventory.
Any unauthorized attempt to remove the asset from its location triggers a series of alarms, including a visual alarm in a monitoring panel and sound alarms , apart from sending messages via e-mail and SMS to cellular phones of authorized personnel. The system allows for remote and real-time control of inventory for all IT equipment monitored in the classrooms, providing for complete visualization and management of assets.
The system also guarantees the control of the maintenance process and any re-distribution of assets to other locations. Some of the features of the system include asset security and control, asset real-time monitoring and integration with mobile devices. Additionaly, the solution allows control of depreciation and analysis for yearly budgets. The management software works on any web-browser.
